 rsity of California - Berkeley.\n聽The lecture\, entitled 'Why We Have Care
 d for the Dead Body: From the Paleolithic to the Present and in Between'\,
  will highlight much of Professor Laqueur's research as presented in his a
 ward-winning book\, The Work of the Dead: A聽Cultural History of Mortal Rem
 ains. Drawing from聽a vast range of sources鈥攆rom mortuary archaeology\, med
 ical tracts\, letters\, and聽art through the ages\, the book聽offers a compe
 lling and richly detailed account of how and why the living have cared for
  the dead\, from antiquity to the twentieth century.\n聽A cocktail receptio
 n will follow the lecture聽at the 9I制作厂免费 Faculty Club.\n聽This ev
