Northern peatlands with large organic nitr ogen (N) storage have the potential to be N2O hotspots under climate warmi ng\, elevated N deposition and vegetation composition change caused by cli mate change. We set up a field experiment to manipulate these three factor s. In this talk\, I will discuss how N2O fluxes are affected by warming an d N addition and how these effects are modulated by vegetation composition changes in a boreal peatland. The interaction of abiotic and biotic facto rs should be included in projecting N2O fluxes in peatlands.\n\nSpeaker: J ianghua Wu\, Associate Professor in Sustainable Resource Management\, Memo rial University\n\n \n DTSTART:20221125T170000Z DTEND:20221125T180000Z LOCATION:Room 426\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Jianghua Wu (Memorial University) - Changes in vegetation compositi on modulate the interactions of climate warming and elevated nitrogen depo sition on nitrous oxide flux in a boreal peatland URL:/geography/channels/event/jianghua-wu-memorial-uni versity-changes-vegetation-composition-modulate-interactions-climate-warmi ng-340650 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
