Moravian missionaries evange lized the coast and encouraged the growth of Inuit settlements\, but it wa s also a Moravian ship that brought the deadly Spanish influenza during th e world epidemic of 1919. The Inuit of the area were decimated\, and Okak was abandoned. Through diaries\, old photos and interviews with survivors\ , this film relates the story of the epidemic and examines the relations b etween natives and missionaries.\n DTSTART:20201112T220000Z DTEND:20201112T233000Z SUMMARY:Viewing of 'The Last Days of Okak' with Ms. Anne Budgell URL:/familymed/channels/event/viewing-last-days-okak-m s-anne-budgell-325522 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
