This presentation will summarize results and insights from Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) and partner investigations of CS sediments in the Ottawa val ley. In 2019\, the GSC obtained near-continuous cores from deep boreholes drilled at two sites in suburban Ottawa (49 and 66 m depths). Studies of t he boreholes\, core sediments and pore waters include a range of interdisc iplinary geoscientific methods\, namely\, pore water geochemistry and isot opes\, exchangeable cation chemistry\, bulk sediment geochemistry\, physic al and geotechnical properties\, borehole geophysics\, mineral magnetism\, CT (computed tomography) scans\, optical microscopy\, SEM (scanning elect ron microscopy)\, EDS (energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy)\, XRD (X-ray diffraction)\, hydraulic head\, pollen counts\, and microfossil enumeratio ns and their isotopic compositions.\n DTSTART:20240123T173000Z DTEND:20240123T183000Z SUMMARY:Geotop Seminar Series: Dr. Marc Hinton URL:/eps/channels/event/geotop-seminar-series-dr-marc- hinton-354123 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
