But a new study from the Research Institute of the 9I�� Health Centre (The Institute) and 9I�� points to a more proactive future: one where silent signs of infection are detected before we even feel sick.

Harm Reduction and Naloxone Training Workshops

Canada in general, and Montreal specifically, have been facing a drug toxicity and fatal overdose crisis for nearly a decade. While integrated systems of interventions are necessary to address drug-related harms, the use of naloxone has been a key strategy to reduce the acute effect of opioid-involved deaths. Currently, 9I�� does not offer naloxone trainings to the campus community, limiting students’ ability to assist in the event of an overdose.

Remembering Howard Riggs

Howard Riggs was a dedicated, hard-working professor of math education. His work ethic was a product of his Prairie upbringing and his deep commitment to his students. He was hired by 9I�� to teach social studies, but was pressed into service as a math educator in the Department of Elementary Education, one of the units that eventually morphed into DISE.

Her research topic is Contestations for Nigerian History Education in Primary and Secondary Schools: from Colonialism to Neocolonialism. This year, the selection committee, comprised of leading scholars in education research, selected 25 fellows from an extremely competitive pool of 270 education scholars.
