Such laye red formations and transformations of the region have posed new challenges and opportunities for environmental humanities scholars and artists inter ested in exploring interconnected processes of mediation that move beyond national boundaries and technological milieus. This virtual workshop bring s together scholars whose research and artistic practices probe the entang led technical\, institutional\, colonial\, embodied\, and infrastructural mediations that inform the territorial politics\, energy transition\, mili tarization\, conservation\, cultural production\, and documentation in the region. We forge conversations across the geologic and aquatic environmen ts of various Asia-Pacific islands (Okinawa\, Taiwan\, the Marshall Island s)\, rivers\, tropical forests\, and straits across South Korea\, China\, Thailand\, and Singapore. The workshop is resolutely interdisciplinary\, m erging methodologies and theories from film and media studies\, art histor y\, literary studies\, eco-feminism\, decolonial critiques and settler col onial studies of empire\, infrastructure studies\, and critical art practi ces.\n\nRegistration Link\n DTSTART:20241026T140000Z DTEND:20241026T191500Z LOCATION:Virtual Workshop | Organized by Yuriko Furuhata (9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ) and Weixi an Pan (Queen’s) SUMMARY:Strata of the Asia-Pacific: Mediating the Geologic and Aquatic Envi ronment URL:/eas/channels/event/strata-asia-pacific-mediating- geologic-and-aquatic-environment-360189 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
