Ottawa\, Ontario\n\nThese events seek to understand how young Black men socially construct their masculinities in a Canadian context. Knowing tha t anti-Black racism and negative stereotypes exist within our Canadian soc ieties\, which impede Black men鈥檚 upward mobility\, the idea is to disrupt such social norms. Building upon a previous dialogue about Black Canadian masculinities\, we are encouraging positive social outcomes for Black men and boys\, but also the community members they are in relation with.\n\nT he purpose of three cities is to understand the lived experiences of the d evelopment of Black masculinity from an Anglo-phone and Franco-phone persp ective.\n\nGuests have the opportunity to participate in our live discussi ons at either of the three events (Maximum of 20 people). The initiative is geared toward creating a safe space for community members to discuss relevant and critical issues and brainstorm about solutions that will help young Black men in their soc ial development.聽聽\n\n\n Through the use of Go Fund me\, we are striving to achieve the goal of $420 and the money collected for this event will go d irectly toward providing haircuts for 21 young Black men who attend these events.
