 ssor of Organizational Theory\, Strategy\, and Entrepreneurship at the Tep
 per School Business\, Carnegie Mellon University. Aven’s work seeks to und
 erstand 1) how configurations of social networks are influenced by individ
 uals’ goals and motivations\; and 2) how these emergent social networks in
  turn determine individual and team outcomes. By bridging individuals’ int
 entions and strategies to broader organizational and market consequences\,
  her research provides new insights into both the formation of social netw
 orks and their effectiveness for coordination. In particular\, Aven’s work
  explores the mechanisms and contingencies of coordination in the contexts
  of entrepreneurship and corruption. Her work demonstrates the implication
 s of coordination for team outcomes across an array of settings (e.g.\, En
 ron corporation\, Early capitalists in Russia\, National Basketball Associ
