This open and free society not only provides a welcoming environment for graduate students to come together to share insights\, expertise and f ellowship\, but also\, it provides a vehicle for the collective voice of t he graduate student body to be recognized and respected throughout the Fac ulty of Education. The EGSS seeks to augment the graduate student experien ce by making available the necessary information\, activities\, resources and opportunities for an extraordinary student life. The EGSS is committed to work within an anti-oppressive framework by fostering inclusivity\, me mber participation and executive transparency.\n\nThe 2017 EGSS Conference theme is “Culture and Community in Canada: Education for All' -- and serv es as an avenue to highlight research concerning various cultural and comm unity groups’ experiences within the Canadian educational context\, throug h a lens of social justice and advocacy\, and informed by evidence-based r esearch. In striving to reach this goal\, the EGSS Conference includes wor kshops\, oral presentations\, and posters numerous important topics discus sed by students and faculty. \n\nEmil\, Shannon\, and Sarah are presenting a session titled 'Using Political Cartoons in a Dialogic Space to Explore Racial Neoliberalism on the Ground.' Alastair Hibberd is presenting his M aster's thesis research\, entitled 'How University Policy Makers Perceive Sexual Violence on Their Campus.'
