DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nIn recent years\, writing on early modern religious cultu
 res has\nturned from examining the upheavals of the Reformation as rupture
 \ntowards emphasis on continuity through processes of transition and\nadap
 tation.  New histories of early modern religious life in\nEurope are also 
 expanding beyond the limits of Christian\nhistoriography\, and the traditi
 onal scope of religious\nstudies.  At the centre of many of the new cultur
 al approaches\nto religiosity in the early modern world lie the questions 
 of\nappropriation and continuity. How did the early-modern world\nwrestle 
 with radical changes concerning the nature of belief? In\nwhat ways did th
 ey alter and reshape their religious and everyday\nlives to conform to the
  realities of religiously pluralistic\nsocieties? Key to understanding how
  these processes of change\nemerged and were configured is consideration o
 f the ways in which\nreligious ideas and concepts moved and migrated throu
 gh cultural\nmedia\, contexts and discussions from lived practices of ever
 yday\npiety and belief\, to the more esoteric complexities of academic\nde
 bates in a range of fields.\n
