DESCRIPTION:This interactive workshop for faculty\, staff and graduate\nstu
 dents\, will provide an overview of the fast changing notions of\ndisabili
 ty\, impairment and access.  A series of interactive\ntasks structured aro
 und recent statistics concerning disability on\ncampus will lead the parti
 cipants to re-examine certain\npreconceptions about the nature of disabili
 ties in higher\neducation\, the models for services and best designs for u
 niversal\naccess.  Using case studies and discussion\, participants will\n
 have the opportunity to gain an understanding of emerging notions\nof disa
 bility\, to identify obstacles to inclusion\, and to begin a\npersonal ref
 lection as to how best facilitate universal access as\nmembers of the McGi
 ll community.\n
