 wave of H1N1 according\nto the Quebec Ministry of Health\, but alas it is 
 not over. The\nseasonal flu which usually is at its peak between January a
 nd April\nin Quebec may just be ramping up so it is time for another flu\n
 vaccine.\nWhat is seasonal flu? It is a form of influenza that comes every
 \nyear. The WHO based on epidemiological data determines annually the\ntyp
 es of virus that may circulate in the population and a vaccine\nis prepare
 d using the three most likely strains to cause trouble.\nUsually this vacc
 ine is given in October and November but this year\nbecause of H1N1 it has
  been delayed. It is now available at Student\nHealth.\nWho should get the
  seasonal flu vaccine? The Ministry of Health\nhas determined that the fol
 lowing groups are at greatest risk for\ninfluenza and its complications:\n
 \nChildren aged 6-23 months\nPeople with Chronic Illnesses (Heart Disease\
 , Pulmonary\nDisease\, Nephropathy\, Diabetes\, Cancer\, Asthma\, Immunode
 ficiency\,\nLiver Disease\, Hemoglobinopathy\, Asplenia)\nAll those aged 6
 0 years and over\nPeople who have contact with individuals at risk (Health
 care\nproviders)\n\nIf you are part of a risk group then you should defini
 tely be\nvaccinated and the vaccine is available for you free of charge. I
 f\nyou are not eligible for the free vaccine program but want to have\npro
 tection then the vaccine is available at cost at Student Health.\nRemember
  that seasonal flu like H1N1 can be quite incapacitating\nand impact on yo
 ur academic career so it may be wise to get\nvaccinated.\nYours\,\nDr. T (
