 Conservative\nAlliance. He has also served as a Senior Fellow of the Canad
 a West\nFoundation and as a Distinguished Visitor at the University of\nCa
 lgary and University of Toronto. Mr. Manning is currently a\nSenior Fellow
  of the Fraser Institute and President and CEO of the\nManning Centre for 
 Building Democracy\, a national not-for-profit\norganization supporting re
 search\, educational\, and communications\ninitiatives designed to achieve
  a more democratic society in Canada\nguided by conservative principles. I
 n 2007 he was made a Companion\nof the Order of Canada.\nDarin Barney\nis 
 Canada Research Chair in Technology & Citizenship and\nAssociate Professor

 gle: Citizenship in the Technological Republic (Hart House\n2007). In 2003
 \, he received the inaugural Social Sciences and\nHumanities Research Coun

 lectual life by a new researcher\, and\nhas been named a 'Leader of Tomorr
 ow' by the Partnership Group for\nScience and Engineering. He has served o
