 uébécois de la\nrecherche sur la société et la culture (FQRSC).\nTitle of 
 Talk: Qualitative methodology in information behaviour\nresearch\nSince th
 e 1980s\, researchers have increasingly taken qualitative\napproaches to s
 tudy information behaviour. This presentation will\nprovide an overview of
  the causes and consequences of the shift\nfrom quantitative to qualitativ
 e approaches in information\nbehaviour research. Kloda will illustrate the
  reasons for the\nshift\, as well as some of the consequences\, by referri
 ng to her own\ndecision to take a purely qualitative approach in her disse
 rtation\nresearch.\n--\n\nThe purpose of the SIS' Speaker Series is to giv
 e Ph.D. and masters\nstudents in the School of Information Studies a behin
 d-the-scenes\nglimpse at research and the research process. There are four
 \nspeakers in the Fall term and another four speakers in the Winter\n2010 
 term. Students and faculty from the Faculty of Education as\nwell as the w
