This presentation will\nprovide an overview of the causes and consequences of the shift\nfrom quantitative to qualitativ e approaches in information\nbehaviour research. Kloda will illustrate the reasons for the\nshift\, as well as some of the consequences\, by referri ng to her own\ndecision to take a purely qualitative approach in her disse rtation\nresearch.\n--\n\nThe purpose of the SIS' Speaker Series is to giv e Ph.D. and masters\nstudents in the School of Information Studies a behin d-the-scenes\nglimpse at research and the research process.
