 \nDr. David Chan is an Associate Professor with\nthe Department of Family 
 Medicine at McMaster University. He worked\nas a software engineer prior t
 o entering the field of medicine. He\nhas devoted the past 20+ years in de
 veloping Free/Open Source\nSoftware solutions to enhance patient care. He 
 has developed a set\nof web-based applications collectively known as OSCAR
  (Open Source\nClinical Applications and Resources). These include an awar
 d\nwinning\, OntarioMD Certified Electronic Medical Record\, a patient\nco
 ntrolled personal health record called MyOSCAR\, a social\nnetworking site
  called MyDrugRef.org for pharmacists and physicians\nto exchange drug rel
 ated knowledge\, and an Open Content Clinical\nResource Database. He is cu
 rrently conducting a number of research\nprojects to demonstrate the use o
