'It's not what you know\, it's who you know'...or as they say in Vietnam\, 'A drop of red blood is more than a pond of water'. Social c apital has become a key term in development literature since the early 1 990s to consider the resources available to individuals and groups through social connections and social relations with others. This talk will focus on these connections and relations in two urban loc ations in Southeast Asia- in Makassar\, Eastern Indonesia where small scal e enterprises are a common means of making a livelihood\, and in Hanoi\, Vietnam\, where a number of young entrepreneurs are setting up innovative enterprises.\n DTSTART:20031127T173000Z DTEND:20031127T183000Z LOCATION:Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest URL:/channels/event/-6434 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
