SGI student spotlight luncheon

Friday, September 19, 2025 11:30to13:30
Bronfman Building Room 301, 1001 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 1G5, CA

Join us for a lunch session featuring inspiring 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ student teams who have participated in global case competitions addressing real-world sustainability and business challenges. This luncheon is a valuable opportunity for participating students to share their experiences, insights, and takeaways with fellow students, while encouraging others to pursue similar hands-on opportunities.

It is one of SGI’s core missions to support students in participating in these competitions by covering registration fees and making these high-impact learning experiences more accessible. These competitions — including ENGCOMM World, 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ International Portfolio Challenge, the Annual Grand Challenge, and Map the System — represent one of SGI’s five core pillars: supporting student participation in competitions both at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ and on the global stage.

Date: Friday, September 19, 2025
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Location: Bronfman building, Room 301.

Map the System is a global competition organized by Oxford University’s Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. It challenges students and educators to deeply explore complex social or environmental issues through systems thinking, focusing not just on solutions, but on understanding root causes, key actors, and relationships within the system. Participants present their research using visual systems maps and narrative analysis to inspire more impactful, informed change. We are proud to announce that this year, the team received exclusive sponsorship from Oxford, which enabled the finalist team to present their research at the University of Oxford from July 3 to July 6!
