Iconic examples include salmon migrating between the ocean and rivers to spawn and leaf litter flowing from forests to str eams. Yet ecology has traditionally treated different ecosystems separatel y\, overlooking how these cross-ecosystem exchanges shape biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. Through a combination of mathematical models and l arge-scale data analyses\, my talk will demonstrate how cross-ecosystem in teractions can influence the dynamics\, diversity\, and functions of ecosy stems across scales. I will show how the spatial and temporal properties o f cross-ecosystem interactions\, as well as the behaviour and traits of th e organisms involved\, can influence species coexistence\, food web struct ure\, and ecosystem stability and production. Ultimately\, my talk will sh ow how mathematical modelling can reveal mechanisms by which cross-ecosyst em exchanges propagate through ecological networks.\n DTSTART:20251209T170000Z DTEND:20251209T180000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Tianna Peller URL:/centre-montreal/channels/event/qls-seminar-series -tianna-peller-369361 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
