Despite the rise of high-resolution techniq ues like single-cell RNA sequencing\, translating these data into actual l andscapes remains a major challenge. In this talk\, I will introduce EvoSc ape\, a biologically motivated framework that constructs pseudo-landscapes reflecting key properties of differentiation. EvoScape blends concepts fr om biophysics and machine learning to produce intuitive\, mechanistic mode ls of developmental trajectories. I will illustrate how EvoScape can gener ate abstract models of vertebrate segmentation\, and—more concretely—how i t reconstructs a landscape of neuromesodermal differentiation directly fro m single-cell data\, revealing a structure consistent with known developme ntal dynamics. Finally\, I will explore how learning dynamics in Generalis ed Hopfield Networks themselves exhibit Waddington-like behaviors\, pointi ng to intriguing parallels between biological and computational learning. \n DTSTART:20251202T170000Z DTEND:20251202T180000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Paul Francois URL:/centre-montreal/channels/event/qls-seminar-series -paul-francois-369293 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
