DESCRIPTION:Perimeters\, a new graduate conference by AGSA\, invites paper 
 proposals on the topic of the “field” for our inaugural conference - to be
  held February 21\, 2026\, at Thomson House.\n	\n	Notoriously messy and elus
 ive\, the “field” is a thorny problematic for many of us before\, during\,
  and after fieldwork. This conference invites papers that sit with this tr
 ouble in order to engender new ways of thinking and theorizing the “field.
 ” Some of our questions include:\n	\n	- How do we find and make sense of the
  contexts we step into?\n	- How does “research” emerge downstream from the 
 field? Conversely\, how does the field prefigure and unsettle the research
  we think we want to do?\n	- What ethnographic possibilities emerge when we
  conceive the field not just as place\, but as process or practice?\n	\n	We 
 are looking for abstracts that grapple with these questions from diverse v
 antage points of the “field.” Possible themes of discussion include but ar
 e not limited to: labor\, environment\, politics\, embodiment\, subjectivi
 ty\, art\, archaeology\, and affect. While Perimeters welcomes academic pa
 pers\, we also invite creative responses to fieldwork\, such as poetry\, p
 rose\, and film.\n	\n	Send paper abstracts (~150 words) with a writer bio (~
