 s has spent 20 years researching mitochondria biogenesis and how it underp
 ins human diseases such as neurodegeneration\, cancer and diabetes and has
  made significant contributions to the field. Mitochondria are vital organ
 elles controlling metabolism\, growth\, and cell death in essentially all 
 organisms including humans. Kostas has broad international research experi
 ence with previous posts at the Institut Pasteur-Paris\, the Biozentrum-Ba
 sel\, and the Universities of Crete\, Manchester and Delaware. He currentl
 y holds the Cathcart Chair of Biochemistry at the University of Glasgow\, 
 is a Royal Society-Wolfson research fellow\, and member of the Lister Inst
 itute and The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).\n\n								 \n							\n						\n					\n
