Whereas polymers such as F-a ctin will grow continuously as long as the subunit concentration is high e nough\, a steadily growing microtubule can suddenly shrink even when there is ample 伪尾-tubulin around. This remarkable behavior was discovered in 19 84 when Tim Mitchison and Marc Kirschner deduced that microtubules switch from growth to shrinkage when they lose their GTP caps. They called this s witching behavior dynamic instability. Dynamic instability became a founda tion of cell physiology\; upon it we have built our explanations for how d ividing cells segregate their chromosomes\, how fibroblasts migrate into w ounds during healing\, and how neurons extend their axon and dendrites. In this talk\, I will describe my lab's recent efforts to understand the mol ecular basis of dynamic instability\n\n聽\n\nSEMINAR POSTER\n\nWWW.MCGILL.C A/ANATOMY/SEMINARS\n DTSTART:20170913T153000Z DTEND:20170913T163000Z LOCATION:Room 2/36\, Strathcona Anatomy and Dentistry Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0C7\, 3640 rue University SUMMARY:The Molecular Basis of Microtubule Structure and Dynamic Instabilit y - Dr. Gary Brouhard (Biology\, 9I制作厂免费) URL:/anatomy/channels/event/molecular-basis-microtubul e-structure-and-dynamic-instability-dr-gary-brouhard-biology-mcgill-269943 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
