 cholars to do? In this preliminary talk for a new book project\, I use cul
 tural geography in order to make the impacts of film production and policy
  visible from the ground. Using New Orleans' film economies in the 1910s a
 nd the 2010s as case studies\, I aim to show that film policy has never be
 en content or jobs\, but about the recapitalization of spaces and the tran
 sformation of place to serve elite interests.\n
